One sign of a great movie is coming away with quotable lines, and this movie has those too! One of our favorites is “Get it? Got it! Good.” Danny Kaye does a fantastic job in his lead role, which has cemented him as one of our all time favorite classic actors. It’s got it all: action, suspense, comedy, a little romance, an engaging story line and a few songs. It’s the story of a carnival actor who poses as a jester to gain access to the king’s court, all to help overthrow the evil king and restore the rightful king to his place. The Court Jester, starring Danny Kaye, Glynis Johns and Angela Lansbury, is a really fun movie to watch. Danny Kaye plays kind-hearted entertainer Hawkins who disguises himself as the legendary king of jesters, Giacomo. When our kids were young, we introduced them to The Court Jester, a classic movie that I grew up with.
